At its 23rd meeting, held on 2 April 2025, the AQU Catalunya Governing Board approved the appointment of two members to the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) and the Appeals Commission (COAPEL). Firstly, the Agency’s highest governing body approved the appointment of Dr Roxana Savin Parisier, full professor in Agronomy at the University of Lleida, to the CAIP. She will join the commission to replace Dr Diego Ruiz Padillo, a full professor in the Department of Electromagnetism and the Physics of Matter at the University of Granada, who has asked to be released from his position as a member of the CAIP and as chair of the Specific Commission for the Assessment of Official Doctorate Degrees. This appointment is made, as stipulated in AQU Catalunya’s statutes, at the proposal of the chair of the commission, who is also the director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola.
Secondly, the AQU Catalunya Governing Board also approved the reappointment of Dr Antonio García de Herreros Madueño for a second non-renewable term as a member of the COAPEL. The full professor of Cellular Biology at Pompeu Fabra University will end his first term as a member of the COAPEL on 15 April 2025, and given the highly positive evaluation of his work, the chair of the commission, Professor Neus Vidal Martínez from the University of Barcelona, has requested that his non-renewable term be renewed for a four-year period. The AQU Catalunya Governing Board has therefore approved his reappointment.
