Gelpí will replace Marc Girona as the student member of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission.
The latest meeting of AQU Catalunya’s Governing Council, held on April 28, 2026, appointed student Paula Gelpí Forcada as a member of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) for a four-year term. Gelpí, who is currently studying for a university master’s degree at the Universitat Ramon Llull, will fill the vacancy on the CAIP left by student Marc Girona Badia, who submitted his resignation as a member of this commission. Gelpí’s appointment came into effect on May 1, 2026.
The CAIP is made up of the director of AQU Catalunya, Mercè Gisbert, who serves as chair, and up to ten academics with recognized professional careers. It also includes up to two highly regarded professionals with experience in the field of quality management and up to two students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or PhD studies at a university within the Catalan university system. Members of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission are appointed for a period of four years, renewable only once for an additional four years. In the case of students, the term can only be renewed if they maintain their student status. Once their term has ended, they must continue in office in an acting capacity until their successors take office.
