AQU Catalunya takes part in a CRUE Teaching session at the Universidad de Extremadura
The meeting, organised by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities, focused on international joint degrees.
AQU Catalunya has taken part today in the CRUE Teaching session: International joint degrees, held at the premises of the Universidad de Extremadura in Cáceres (Extremadura). The seminar, organised by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), has been designed as a forum for analysis and strategic coordination to strengthen internationalisation in the Spanish university system. The meeting, in which AQU Catalunya was represented by the head of the Quality Assessment Area of the Agency, Esther Huertas, has as its main objective the design, implementation and management of international joint degrees, key pillars in the construction of the European Higher Education Area.
The session addressed aspects such as the regulatory framework and accreditation. Specifically, it discussed the procedures for verification and monitoring of shared study programmes, in accordance with current regulations on the organisation of university studies. The other main areas of the session were strategic alliances through the creation of integrated academic programmes within the framework of European Universities and other academic cooperation networks; quality assurance based on common criteria to ensure academic quality and the official validity of degrees across the different participating education systems; and administrative simplification through coordination mechanisms between institutions to reduce bureaucratic barriers and facilitate the mobility of students and staff.
The event brought together vice-rectors for Teaching and Internationalisation and experts in academic management, with the aim of consolidating a competitive, flexible and fully internationally integrated educational offer.
