AQU Catalunya took part today in the VIII Teaching Innovation Conference at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The two‑day event is dedicated to the many teaching innovation initiatives emerging at the UAB. In this context, Gisbert spoke with former Minister of Universities Joan Subirats in a discussion titled Learning in times of change: New teaching challenges in Higher Education. Their conversation, moderated by Carme Ruiz, the UAB’s academic coordinator for Teaching Training and Innovation, was the first item on the conference agenda, taking place after the institutional welcome —given by the Vice‑Rector for Teaching Training and Innovation, José Luis Muñoz, and Carme Ruiz— and the opening lecture delivered by UAB professor Mariona Grané, titled How to incorporate Artificial Intelligence into university teaching.
The conference, which will conclude tomorrow with the ceremony for the VIII Teaching Excellence Awards, also featured a round table titled Towards university teaching that improves teaching and learning processes, with contributions from professors Maria Rosa Buxarrais (University of Barcelona), Toni Portell (University of Vic) and Mar Carrió (Polytechnic University of Catalonia). The session was moderated by Edelmira Badillo Jiménez, director of ICE‑UAB. Afterwards, several panels were held in which teaching innovation and quality projects were presented.
