AQU Catalunya updates the arts higher education programmes validation and modification procedure
After jointly developing them with the Ministry of Education's Specialist Education Planning Service, the Agency approved the changes to these two documents at the last meeting of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) in November 2023.

AQU Catalunya has recently updated several of its assessment procedures. Two of these procedures relate to the validation and modification of arts higher education programmes. The first, called Arts higher education programmes validation procedure, aims to determine the processes by which centres offering arts higher education programmes must submit their proposals for new official higher education programmes in arts to be evaluated. The second, called Arts higher education programmes modification procedure,
aims to determine the processes by which the centres offering higher education programmes in arts must submit the modifications they intend to make to their official arts higher education programmes in order to make them known and, subsequently, for the modifications to be evaluated.
For the validation procedure, the text explains what happens when the Ministry of Education informs AQU of proposed new qualifications and that the process concludes when the Agency publishes the final assessment report for the arts higher education programmes on EUC Estudis and DEQAR.
For the modification procedure, the document published by AQU Catalunya indicates that the process begins in October when centres offering arts higher education programmes deliver their proposals for modifying the curricula of the programmes to the Ministry of Education, which must then submit them to AQU Catalunya. The process concludes when AQU Catalunya publishes the final report on the modification of the arts higher education programmes on EUC Estudis and DEQAR.
Both the validation and modification procedures were developed jointly by AQU Catalunya and the Ministry of Education's Specialist Education Planning Service. The documents resulting from the work carried out by the two bodies were approved at the last meeting of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP). This is the third version of the two procedures.
