Division of the CAIP Specific Commission for Social Sciences
The current Specific Commission for Social Sciences will be divided into two separate commissions, which will be in charge of different areas of knowledge.

The Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) Specific Commission for Social Sciences now has a high assessment caseload, and will therefore be split into two: Specific Commission for Social Sciences 1 and Specific Commission for Social Sciences 2.
Therefore, from now on, Specific Commission for Social Sciences 1 will include the knowledge areas of:
- economic science, business administration and management, marketing, commerce, accounting and tourism;
- social sciences, social work, labour relations and human resources, sociology, political science and international relations;
- gender studies and feminist studies;
- law and legal specialities.
While Specific Commission for Social Sciences 2 will include the knowledge areas of:
- educational science;
- journalism, communication, advertising and public relations;
- behavioural science and psychology.
The president of the CAIP has stated that he will appoint Dr. Irene Delgado Sotillos, Professor of Political Science and Administration at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (National Distance Education University, UNED) to chair Specific Commission for Social Sciences 1 and member of the CAIP. Dr. Andreu Casero Ripollés, Professor of Journalism at Jaume I University, will continue as chair of Specific Commission for Social Sciences 2.
