Fernando López Ramón and José Pla Barber, new members of the Appeals Committee
See the composition of the Appeals Committee.
AQU Catalunya's Governing Board has appointed Dr. Fernando López Ramón, professor of Administrative Law at the University of Zaragoza – in replacement of Dr. Tomàs Font Llovet, professor of Administrative Law at the University of Barcelona – and Dr. José Pla Barber, professor of Business Organisation at the University of Valencia, as new members of the Appeals Committee for a renewable term of four years.
In the same meeting, the Governing Board ratified Dr. Maria Pau Ginebra Molins as committee chair.
AQU Catalunya has broadened the composition of the Appeals Committee to address one of the recommendations made by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) made in the external review report of 2017 in relation to the Agency's compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), in which it prescribed:
"(...) that the agency reconsiders the composition of the Appeals Committee in order to fully exclude the risk of any perception of a lack of independence, notably by extending its composition by the inclusion of some non-Catalan members".
