Guide for ex-ante accreditation of short learning programmes published
The Institutional and Programme Assessment Committee (CAIP) approved the guide for the ex-ante accreditation of short learning programmes in July.
Short learning programmes (SLP) involve the introduction of a new scenario in the field of higher education in Catalonia, which facilitates the connection between higher education and vocational training. Short learning programmes can provide an opportunity to establish bridges between the two educational systems (academic and vocational), as well as promote lifelong learning.
This guide is based on the Pilot guide for the ex ante accreditation of short learning programmes linked to the Catalan Public Employment Service's Catalogue of Training in Specialised Fields, published in 2020. The new guide is designed to make it easier for those responsible to draw up proposals for short learning programmes, and at the same time to be the instrument for the external and independent assessment of these proposals by AQU Catalunya.
Also of note is that these programmes will also be listed in the Catalan Public Employment Service's Catalogue of Training in Specialised Fields in order to provide an agile response to the training demands of sectors and employers. These specialised courses would form part of the training offered to workers (employed or not).
Currently, only short learning programmes within the strategic framework of the Secretariat for Universities and Research can be assessed.
