The webinar Challenges in university training in Early Childhood and Primary Education, organised for the whole of Spain between the external assessment agencies of Andalusia, Aragon, Castille and Leon, the Canary Islands and the Basque Country dealt extensively with the status of this degree.
First of all, Sandra Nieto, head of the AQU Catalunya's Employers Project, presented the study on employers' opinion of university training in Early Childhood and Primary Education.
Secondly, José Gutiérrez Pérez, head of the Institutional Accreditation area of the Andalusian Knowledge Agency's Assessment and Accreditation Directorate (DEVA-AAC), made a thematic analysis of the results of the assessments in this area.
Finally, the challenges of university training for teachers in Spain were discussed in a round table with the participation of Gonzalo Jover Olmeda, Dean of the Faculty of Education of the Complutense University of Madrid; Mª del Pilar González, teaching technical advisor to the Central Education Inspectorate, of Directorate General for Centres, Planning and Educational Planning of the Government of Castille and Leon, and Saturnino Martínez García, education sociologist and director of the Canary Islands Agency for University Quality and Educational Assessment (ACCUEE), moderated by Sandra Marcos Ortega, head of international and institutional relations of the Quality Assurance Agency for the University System in Castille and Leon (ACSUCYL).
