On 8 March, International Women’s Day, the Agency takes stock of its action on gender equality
To mark International Women's Day, AQU Catalunya highlights the actions on gender equality carried out over the last year.

Throughout the year, the Agency has carried out a series of actions that focus on visualising gender discrimination and the achievement of effective equality between men and women, all with the aim of making AQU Catalunya's commitment to gender equality effective within its framework of action. In 2021 the Agency undertook:
- The analysis of the implications of Law 17/2020, of 22 December, amending Law 5/2022, on the right of women to eradicate gender-based violence, for their activity. As a result, the guidelines for the validation and accreditation of official university degree programmes were updated.
- The preparation of the report Women's employment outcomes twenty years after finishing university, which concluded that motherhood can lead to a reduction in working hours and salary for women and subsequently impair their chances of holding positions of responsibility. This report was presented at a conference that was attended by more than 250 people and has had more than 500 views on YouTube: Gender differences in employment 20 years after graduation.
- The creation of the gender and teaching staff accreditation page on the Agency website, which lists all the actions that AQU Catalunya carries out in the field of teaching staff assessment
- The maintaining of a proactive role in the Inter-university Council of Catalonia's Women and Science Commission, of which we are members.
- The incorporation of cross-functional skills linked to the gender perspective in the AQU Catalunya Staff Training Catalogue, with the aim of fostering the introduction of the gender perspective at the Agency.
