Publication of information on the webinar "Short learning programmes (Micro-credentials): results of the first experience"
All the documentation for the webinar held today is now available on our website.
This session, organised by AQU Catalunya, was specially designed for degree programme managers who are considering short learning programmes (SLP) as an option. The aim was to give an overview of these programmes in the European Union, to explain the experience gained in Catalonia and to discuss the opportunities and difficulties that their implementation could create for the Catalan university system.
Martí Casadesús, director of AQU Catalunya, led the webinar, broadcast live on YouTube. The first to speak was Klara Engels-Perenyi, Policy Officer at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education and Culture in the higher education unit, who gave her presentation, Micro-credentials: the view of the European Union, in English. Next up was Esther Huertas, head of AQU Catalunya's Quality Assessment Department, who presented the results of the Agency's first experience assessing short learning programmes. Finally, the director of AQU Catalunya moderated the round table debate about how this type of programme fits into the university system's future educational offer. Several experts attended this last event:
- Mercè Chacón, expert in lifelong learning.
- Màrius Martínez, President of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) and Vice Rector for International Relations at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
- Àngels Fitó, Vice President for Competitiveness and Employability at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).
