The AQU Catalunya Research Assessment Commission has handled all the applications submitted in the January 2023 call for assessment and recognition of the research merits (sexennials) of non-civil servant teaching and research staff (PDI) at Catalan public universities.

The Research Assessment Commission (CAR) electronically notified its decision on all the applications for assessment and recognition of the research activity of non-civil servant PDI at Catalan public universities, corresponding to the call open between 16 January and 3 February 2023.
In this call, 1,114 assessment applications were submitted, which included 1,120 sexennials. Of these, 818 were ultimately approved. In other words, 73.3% have been given a favourable assessment. In the case of applications for recognition, of the 41 presented, all have been accepted but only 18 have been approved, accounting for 43.9%. The knowledge areas that received the most applications for assessment were Social Sciences and Engineering; this trend was repeated in applications for recognition.
