The AQU Catalunya Governing Board approves the closure of the 2024 financial year
The Agency’s senior governing body has approved the organisation’s 2024 activities and accounts, as well as the audits carried out.

The AQU Catalunya Governing Board met yesterday at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) to finalise the closure of the activities and budget for the 2024 financial year. During the meeting, the President of AQU Catalunya, Francesc Xavier Grau Vidal, informed the Governing Board about the planned institutional and public information events undertaken by the Agency and updated them on the progress of renewing the composition of the Advisory Committee. He also provided an update on the progress of the process to appoint the director of AQU Catalunya, which is currently open for submissions of candidatures until 21 April 2025.
Next, the director of AQU Catalunya and chair of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission, Jaume Valls Pasola, the chair of the Research Assessment Commission, Maria Pau Ginebra Molins, and the chair of the Appeals Commission, Neus Vidal Martínez, presented the annual reports on their respective 2024 activities. Pasola then presented the 2024 Activities and Corporate Social Responsibility Report, which outlines the actions taken by the Agency during the year and the 2024 annual implemented accounts and inventory. He also presented the results of the audits of the 2024 annual accounts and of the financial control for the financial year 2023. The Governing Board, which was holding its 23rd session, approved the closure of the 2024 financial year.
The director of the Agency then presented the Framework for the Improvement of the Institutional Quality of the Catalan Higher Education System, which will replace the Framework for the Validation, Monitoring, Modification and Accreditation of Recognised University Degrees, and which was also approved. Lastly, the Governing Board approved the members appointed to the Institutional and Programme Review Commission and the Appeals Commission and ratified the agreements signed between December 2024 and February 2025.
