These are the figures achieved by AQU Catalunya throughout 2025
With the aim of ensuring accountability and providing an overall view of the scope of its activity, the Agency presents an infographic that compiles and contextualises last year’s data.
Based on the activity data from 2025, AQU Catalunya has produced an infographic to provide greater transparency regarding all the tasks it carries out. Throughout 2025, the Agency’s activity was distributed across its different areas of responsibility. First, the volume of evaluated programmes stands out, which totalled 413: 170 bachelor’s degrees, 188 master’s degrees and 55 doctoral programmes. In addition, AQU Catalunya organised 33 site visits to institutions. Regarding higher education institutions, in 2025 the Agency carried out a total of 44 evaluations and organised 23 external visits.
Furthermore, during 2025 the Agency received 788 applications for academic staff evaluation: 507 for research and 281 for advanced research. In addition, a total of 3,671 academic career progression periods were processed. In terms of knowledge generation, AQU Catalunya organised seven events, produced sixteen original publications, delivered 48 presentations and collected 13,189 survey responses. The Agency also participated in three international projects.

Throughout 2025, AQU Catalunya worked with 777 experts: 399 participated in academic staff evaluation and 408 in institutional and programme evaluation (it should be noted that some experts take part in both types of evaluation). Overall, women account for 49% of all experts and men for 51%, confirming parity, an objective to which the Agency is committed.
Regarding staff, the strong presence of women is noteworthy. Of the Agency’s 55 employees, 72% are women and 28% are men. By function, AQU Catalunya has 77% technical staff and 23% administrative staff.
With regard to international partnerships, the Agency has continued to be a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU), the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (COARA) and the Global Academic Integrity Network (GAIN), a consortium bringing together quality assurance agencies worldwide to combat the rise of companies that provide students with tools to commit academic fraud during their studies. The Agency has also remained part of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), maintained recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), and continued its adherence to the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).
The Directorate and Communications Area of AQU Catalunya has published the Agency’s quarterly newsletter and has maintained and updated the EUC Informes, EUC Dades and EUC Estudis portals.
