UAB Faculty of Biosciences and Faculty of Political Science and Sociology receive institutional accreditation
All official university bachelor's and master's degrees taught at these faculties have been automatically accredited for another five years.

AQU Catalunya has institutionally accredited two more centres: the Faculty of Biosciences and the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the UAB.
The institutional accreditation of university centres entails the accreditation of all official university bachelor's and master's degrees taught at that centre for a renewable period of five years. Currently, Catalan universities and AQU Catalunya are working to promote institutional accreditation in the period 2022-2024 in order to replace the degree-by-degree accreditation process for training programmes. In this way, university autonomy is strengthened, the assessment load is reduced and efficiency is increased for the entire Catalan university system.
According to Royal Decree 420/2015, centres with a certified Internal Quality Assurance System that have accredited at least 50% of the bachelor's degrees and 50% of the master's degrees they offer can opt for institutional accreditation.
Currently, the Catalan university system has 14 institutionally accredited centres:
