ShareUB Faculty of Education obtains institutional accreditation
All official university degrees taught at the University of Barcelona Faculty of Education have been automatically accredited for a period of six years, as established in Royal Decree 640/2021.
The Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona has been institutionally accredited with a favourable accreditation report from Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency, AQU Catalunya. This distinction was obtained following AQU Catalunya's certification of the Faculty's Internal Quality Assurance System on 24 February 2023 for a period of 6 years. The Faculty of Education, in accordance with the Register of Universities, Centres and Qualifications of the Spanish Ministry of Universities, teaches and coordinates 5 bachelor's degrees and 12 university master's degrees. From 15/12/2016 to 11/03/2021, the faculty renewed the accreditation of 100% of bachelor's degrees and 83.3% of university master's degrees.
Catalan universities and AQU Catalunya are working to promote institutional accreditation in the period 2022-2024 in order to replace the degree-by-degree accreditation process for training programmes. In this way, university autonomy is strengthened, the assessment load is reduced and efficiency is increased for the entire Catalan university system. The Catalan university system has 49 institutionally accredited centres.
