The director shall be responsible for technical and administrative management of Agència per a la Qualitat del Sistema Universitari de Catalunya and shall execute the resolutions of the Governing Board and the Standing Committee.
The director shall be appointed through an open, competitive and freely contested process, in accordance with criteria set by the Governing Board, for a four-year term and may only be re-elected for a second term based on the principles of merit and capacity and a criterion of suitability.
The director of AQU Catalunya has the following functions:
- Direct, organise, manage and inspect the services of the Agency, in accordance with the guidelines of the Governing Council
- Execute and enforce the agreements of the Governing Council and its Standing Committee
- Act as AQU Catalunya's legal representation
