Graduates in Environmental Sciences labour market 2023
The joint study is an initiative of the Valencian Agency for Assessment and Forecasting (AVAP) and the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) to promote comparative thematic analyses.
In this edition, 275 people out of a population of 583 were surveyed, a figure that represents a response rate of 59% and a sampling error of 4.5%, in the case of people with degrees from Catalan universities, and a response rate of 32.4% and a sampling error of 8.8%, in the case of people with degrees from Valencian universities.

Results
The conclusions reached included:
- The employment indicators of graduates in Environmental Sciences are lower than the average for bachelor's degree programmes taught in Catalonia.
- Personal contacts are the main way graduates in Environmental Sciences find a job.
- In general terms, the respondents show an impressive application of the skills acquired during their studies, which is slightly higher for Valencian universities.
- The skills in Environmental Sciences where the training received is lacking in terms of the demands of the job are English, written expression and planning and organisation.
- A total of 63% of people who graduated in Environmental Sciences would repeat the degree programme again, which is below that of the Catalan university system as a whole.
- Lack of satisfaction with job opportunities is the main reason for not repeating the Environmental Sciences degree.

Fieldwork: November-December 2022 for electronic mailings and January-May 2023 for telephone calls.
