International projects
Skill4Employability (started in 2019)
The Skills4Employability project (Enhancing the Presence of Soft-Skills in Higher Education Curricula) is an Erasmus+ project led by CONNEX (Belgium), in which AQU Catalunya, the Sapienza University (Rome, Italy), the Politehnica University (Bucharest, Romania) and the Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) all participate as partners.
The aim of the project is to help universities improve the quality of higher education through the introduction of soft skills in curricula and assess the degree to which these match the skills relevant to employers' needs in the labour market.
Two methodologies are expected to be developed:
- A guide to integrating soft skills in university curricula
- A guide to assessing soft skills
The first meeting, which is to be coordinated by AQU Catalunya, will see the presentation of the first guide, together with the project's quality evaluation plan.
CHARM-EU (started in 2019)
The CHARM-EU (Challenge-driven, Accessible, Research-based, Mobile European University) forms parts of the European Commission's European Universities initiative.
CHARM-EU consists of an alliance between the University of Barcelona (UB), which leads the project, the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Budapest, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Montpeller and the University of Utrecht.
The project presents an innovative pedagogical approach in which a group of between 100 and 200 students from the five participating universities take different course modules consisting of multidisciplinary credits.
The aim of the project is to bring about change to academic provision so that it becomes more cross-disciplinary and offers students a multi-disciplinary approach to learning. Cross-disciplinary academic provision will provide for greater flexibility and enable students to better plan and adapt their studies according to their needs.
AQU Catalunya is an associate member of the project.
