16 October (23:59 CET) is the closing date for the call for applications for pre-selection reports for tenure-eligible lecturer accreditation
The online application procedure for persons interested in applying for a pre-selection accreditation report as a tenure-eligible lecturer is open from 21 September until 16 October 2020 (23.59 CET).
The post of tenure-eligible lecturer is the entry-level position of contractual university teaching posts. It offers the possibility of promotion to higher posts with an indefinite contract (senior lecturer and full professor). A contract is temporary and full-time and can last from one to five years, with flexible leave in cases of maternity, paternity, child adoption and fostering. A tenure-eligible lecturer can undertake both teaching and research activities. Total duration of a contract as a tenure-eligible lecturer and teaching assistant, either at the same institution or a different one, is a maximum of 8 years in total.
The eligibility requirement for this call for applications is that candidates must have a doctoral/PhD degree. Before applying for assessment, applicants should consult the document Profiles of tenure-eligible lecturers (2013-2017) as a source of reference for the merits required of candidates who have successfully undergone accreditation.
Between 2014 and 2018, 85% of all candidates to undergo the assessment and accreditation procedure were from Catalonia (with 6% from the rest of Spain and 9% from abroad); 68% of all applications were successful (65% for females and 70% for males). 93% of those who obtained a favourable report achieved this at the first attempt.
