Every year AQU Catalunya draws up a report on the activity of the Appeals Committee, which is presented by the Committee president to the Agency’s Governing Board as an accountability report.
The Appeals Committee is the committee in charge of resolving the allegations and appeals filed against the agreements of the Research Assessment Commission, the Institutional and Programme Review Commission, of its specific commissions and other assessment committees. It is also in charge of reviewing other acts issued by the commissions, when so established.
In 2021, the Committee met eight times to resolve teaching staff and degree programme files. The Appeals Committee undertook the following:
- It issued 1 review report against a validation of a master’s degree which was rejected and the Committee ratified the negative validation; and upheld 1 appeal against the qualification of a master’s degree.
- It issued decisions on 182 appeals filed by applicants for closed calls for teaching staff assessment, 16% of which have been upheld.
- It managed the information on the two appeals filed before the Administrative Litigation Court by those people who did not agree with the resolution of the appeal, both have been dropped.
