AQU Catalunya Renews the Advisory Commission
The President of AQU Catalunya, Francesc Xavier Grau Vidal, renews the commission with the appointment of Guy Haug and Marc Tarrés Vives.
The President of AQU Catalunya, Francesc Xavier Grau Vidal, informed the Agency’s Governing Council of two appointments to AQU Catalunya’s Advisory Commission. The two new members are Drs. Guy Haug and Marc Tarrés Vives. Haug, appointed as an international academic member of the commission, currently works professionally in university consultancy. Previously, he led the Reims Graduate School of Management for over a decade and is regarded as one of the architects of the Bologna Process and the creation of the European Higher Education Area.
Dr. Marc Tarrés Vives is an Associate Professor in the Department of Administrative, Procedural, and Financial and Tax Law at the University of Barcelona. Previously, he had been a member of AQU Catalunya’s Governing Council. Tarrés joins the Advisory Commission as a representative of the union Unió General de Treballadors, a position that was pending renewal. Haug’s appointment takes effect from 23 October, and Tarrés’s from 31 October of the same year.
The Advisory Commission is the consultative body that collaborates with AQU Catalunya by providing advice on strategies, defining and improving procedures, and preparing proposals for action, with the aim of ensuring the quality of the Agency’s activities in accordance with international standards. This commission is composed, as established by the Agency’s statutes, of national and international academics with recognized international experience and prestige, students from Catalan universities, and representatives of Catalonia’s major trade unions who must be academics. All members are required to have experience in higher education and research quality.
