AQU Catalunya closes the first call for accreditation of associate professors and full professors under the evaluation criteria approved in January 2025
The Research Evaluation Commission applied these new criteria, which are more plural and more focused on the qualitative assessment of merits, to the 196 applications received.
AQU Catalunya has now closed the first accreditation period for associate professors and full professors in which the evaluation criteria approved on 20 January 2025 were applied, and which entered into force in April of the same year. During this nine-month period, the Research Evaluation Commission (CAR) received a total of 196 accreditation applications, of which 154 correspond to associate professors and the remainder to full professors. To date, 69 applications from associate professors and 18 from full professors have been evaluated.

The implementation of the new criteria by the CAR was due to the approval of the Organic Law on the University System (LOSU) in 2023. These new evaluation criteria are more plural and are contextualised to each field of knowledge. In addition, they introduce elements of qualitative assessment of teaching and research merits and, where applicable, knowledge transfer.
