AQU Catalunya reports positively on the validation of the ‘Teacher Assessment Manual by the University of Vic-UCC’
The Specific Commission for the Assessment of Teaching and Management Activity has issued a definitive validation report that green lights the document.

AQU Catalunya has issued a positive verification report on the Teaching assessment manual of the University of Vic-UCC (UVic-UCC). Final approval of the manual has come after the university sent the Specific Commission for the Assessment of Teaching and Management Activity (CEAADG) a document in which an answer was given to two conditions previously raised by the commission. After the university’s response, the CEAADG issued the final validation report which gives validity to the manual.
The teaching assessment model of the University of Vic-UCC is based on the three components of the DOCENTIA programme: the self-report from the teacher requesting the assessment, reports from experts and classroom observers and student satisfaction surveys. Overall, the commission considers that the procedures established in the university’s assessment manual allow the quality assessment of teaching activities carried out by the teaching staff in accordance with the requirements of the DOCENTIA programme. As part of the reform of the accreditation criteria for permanent teaching staff promoted by the LOSU, from 2025 onwards, the assessment of the teaching activity and quality of teachers (with positive evaluations) using accredited teaching evaluation manuals will be recognised.
AQU Catalunya accredits the teaching assessment manuals of the universities that request it. The aim of this process is to help them design mechanisms that contribute to the improvement of their teaching activity. The Agency’s support program for universities for teaching assessment consists of four phases. The first is the design phase, in which the institution prepares its manual proposal. Secondly, the design assessment or validation phase, in which the Agency validates the manual proposal. Thirdly, comes the implementation follow-up phase, in which two follow-ups of the teaching assessment process contained in the teaching assessment manuals are carried out. Finally, there is the accreditation phase, which is valid for 5 years. At the end of this period, the renewal procedure is launched.
