AQU Catalunya meets with the quality assurance units at higher education institutions in Catalonia
The Agency and the 12 quality assurance units at higher education institutions in Catalonia met for the second time this year. In addition to reviewing the status of ongoing projects and assessment processes, the meeting addressed the Student Report and the presentation of benchmarks in Biosciences and Philology and language studies, among other issues.

AQU Catalunya met today with the 12 quality assurance units at higher education institutions in Catalonia. At the start of the meeting, which was the second of 2024, the Director's report was presented to the participants, who spoke about the status of the assessment processes of the current calls for applications, the status of the review of the VSMA Framework, the updating of the teaching assessment methodology, the status of the studies currently being carried out by AQU Catalunya and, finally, the conferences to be held by the Agency in the near future. Regarding the review of the VSMA Framework, the director explained that, currently, there is a first draft in the technical review phase, and that the final approval will take place at an extraordinary meeting of the Governing Council that will be held between the fall and the winter of this year.
Apart from the Director's Report, the meeting addressed other issues such as, for example, the benchmarks in Biosciences and in Philology and Language Studies, which define the degree learning outcomes classified in knowledge, skills and skills. Lastly, the meeting dealt with the Students' Report, a project that aims to promote student participation in accreditation processes through the generation of an independent report drawn up by the students of the degree courses or centres to be accredited. After a pilot phase that lasted from 2019 to 2023, the project is in the consolidation phase and in July it will be presented to the Agency's Institutional Programmes Assessment Committee for approval.
