At the meeting, participants were introduced to the Agency’s new director, Mercè Gisbert, who has held the position since October and also serves as president of the Student Committee.
This week, AQU Catalunya held the second meeting of the Student Committee for 2025. The meeting initially served to introduce the Agency’s new director, Mercè Gisbert, to the committee members. Gisbert, who also serves as president of the Student Committee by virtue of her position as director of the Agency, used her first address as president of the body to thank the former director of the Agency, Jaume Valls, for his work leading the organization. She also expressed her gratitude to the committee members whose terms end this year, as the next meeting of the body is expected to take place in 2026.
Next, the meeting addressed the student reports for institutional accreditation submitted during the 2024–2025 academic year. The purpose of this agenda item was to identify strengths and areas for improvement to be considered in the preparation of the reports for the 2025–2026 academic year. The third agenda item focused on the organization of student training courses on quality assurance in higher education. The registration period for the course on 15 November is currently open.
The Student Committee of AQU Catalunya, established in 2010, is composed of up to twelve students and is chaired by the director of AQU Catalunya. The committee works to expand and systematize student participation in the Agency’s evaluation activities. In addition, it advises AQU Catalunya on projects that have a direct impact on the student body and participates in the preparation of studies of interest to students.
