AQU Catalunya’s Appeals Commission (COAPEL) met online today. The meeting, which is the sixth of 2024, has aimed to resolve a total of 32 appeals filed by university teaching staff. After approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the commission resolved 12 appeals from the second call for teaching staff in 2023. The COAPEL also resolved 12 appeals from the second call for applications for the 2023 aggregate, one appeal from the second call for the 2023 PSH aggregate and 7 appeals from the second call for full professors.
Chaired by Neus Vidal Martínez, professor at the University of Barcelona, the commission is the AQU Catalunya body responsible for adjudicating on appeals against the decisions of the Research Assessment Commission and the other assessment, certification and accreditation commissions. Its decisions exhaust administrative channels. This COAPEL meeting resumes the commission’s activity after its last session, on 20 June 2024. The commission met on eight occasions throughout 2023 and resolved a total of 223 appeals.
