COAPEL celebrates its fifth meeting this year
The Appeals Commission of AQU Catalunya meets again and resolves 24 appeals from the second call for lecturers in 2023, among other issues.

The AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission (COAPEL) met yesterday to celebrate its fifth meeting in 2024. The commission decided on 24 appeals from the second call for applications for tenure-eligible lecturers in 2023. Furthermore, the COAPEL issued a review report for each of the two negative validation reports derived from the appeals that had been presented to the Commission of Claims for the Verification and Accreditation of Curricula of the Council of Universities of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. The first referred to the proposal of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Health Technology of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), and the second to the proposal of the Bachelor's Degree in Management and Technologies Applied to Sport and Physical Conditioning of the EUNCET centre, attached to the UPC.
Chaired by Neus Vidal Martínez, full professor at the University of Barcelona, the commission is AQU Catalunya's body responsible for resolving appeals lodged against the decisions of the Research Assessment Commission and other assessment, certification and accreditation committees. Its resolutions exhaust the administrative route. This COAPEL meeting resumes the commission's activity after its last session, on 23 May 2024. The Commission met on eight occasions throughout 2023 and resolved a total of 223 appeals.
