AQU Catalunya’s Director takes part in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’s Open Science Summer Camp 2026
The session focused on CoARA, an international coalition promoting a fairer and more comprehensive approach to research assessment.
AQU Catalunya’s Director, Mercè Gisbert, took part today in the event Open Science Summer Camp 2026: CoARA, from Plans to Practice, held at the headquarters of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Organised by the UOC Open Science Office, the session focused on the implementation of the principles of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) in universities and research centres. The event’s main objective was to provide a space for exchange and reflection on the reform of research assessment. In this context, the participation of AQU Catalunya was particularly relevant, as the Agency has been a member of the coalition since 2022 and, in September 2025, presented its CoARA Action Plan 2025-2029.
Gisbert took part in the round table Transforming Assessment: Quality Assurance Agencies Set the Pace. The discussion was moderated by Pastora Martínez, UOC Commissioner for International Action and coordinator of the OpenEU alliance, and also featured Pilar Paneque, Director of the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (ANECA). The event took place throughout the morning and afternoon. The programme is available here.
