Esther Huertas Appointed to the EQAR Register Committee
The Head of the Quality Assessment Area at AQU Catalunya will join the Committee starting July 1st.

The 24th General Assembly of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), held last week in Warsaw, appointed Esther Huertas Hidalgo, Head of the Quality Assessment Area at AQU Catalunya, to the Register Committee. Huertas, nominated by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), will replace Steffen Westergard Andersen, who had been a member since 2017. Her term is scheduled to last until June 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal. Her first official day as a Committee member will be July 1 of this year.
EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) was founded in March 2008 by the E4 Group as part of the Bologna Process. The E4 Group included ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), ESU (European Students’ Union), EUA (European University Association), and EURASHE (European Association of Higher Education Institutions). EQAR’s mission is to promote the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) by ensuring transparency in quality assurance.
The EQAR register provides users with a list of quality assurance agencies that are considered reliable, trustworthy, and credible, operating within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). AQU Catalunya was one of the first three agencies registered with EQAR after successfully passing the international external evaluation coordinated by ENQA in 2008.
