In the last ten years, AQU Catalunya has recognised 18% of degree programmes as excellent
Between 2014 and 2023, the Agency issued a favourable report for more than 1,200 degree programmes that applied for accreditation.

Over the last ten years, AQU Catalunya has reported on a total of 1,234 degrees that applied to the Catalan Agency for accreditation. Of these reports, 99% were favourable in all categories. In other words, only a dozen of the degree programmes that submitted applications received an unfavourable report and were therefore not granted accreditation. Of those that have been accredited, 73% have received a favourable accreditation report, 18% have been classified as excellent, and 8% have been accredited, but with provisos.
These proportions change when they are observed separately by educational level. Of the 481 Bachelor's degree programmes that applied to AQU Catalunya for accreditation, 83% received a favourable judgement, and 8% were deemed excellent The number who have been accredited but with provisos also stands at 8%. Those who have not been granted accreditation is just 1%.
Of the 556 Master's degree programmes that applied for an accreditation report from AQU Catalunya between 2014 and 2023, 72% received a favourable judgement. The number of those who obtained an accreditation report and were deemed excellent were 18%, and in the case f those who were successful but with proviso the figure stands at 9%. Only 1% were not accredited.
Of the doctoral programmes that requested an accreditation report, the outcome was favourable for all. Thus, of the 197 who applied, 54% were accredited, 44% with excellence and 2% with provisos.
Finally, the identification of 2,835 good practices over the course of these ten years stands out. These best practices are noteworthy aspects of a degree detected during the accreditation process that can be transferred to other degrees. The degree programme accreditation process is gradually being replaced by institutional accreditation.
