Information from the webinar "Challenges in Teacher Training in Compulsory Secondary and Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Languages" published
The documentation on the seminar we organised today, together with the assessment agencies of Andalusia, Aragon, Castile and León, the Canary Islands, Galicia and the Basque Country, is now available on our website. The webinar is one of the series on the challenges of university training according to employers.

The webinar "Challenges in Teacher Training in Compulsory Secondary and Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Languages", organised for the whole of Spain between the external assessment agencies of Andalusia, Aragón, Castile and León, the Canary Islands, Galicia and the Basque Country dealt extensively with the situation of teachers who are graduates of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training.
The webinar began with an introduction by Javier Oliver, director of the Valencian Assessment and Foresight Agency (AVAP), and continued with a presentation of a thematic analysis of the assessment results for this degree by José Gutiérrez, head of Institutional Accreditation at the Andalusian Agency of Knowledge (DEVA-AAC).
Josep Lluís Mateos, a specialist at AQU Catalunya, then presented the report "Employers' opinion on the training given on the Master's Degree in Teacher Training (MUFP) course". In his presentation, Mateos shared the results of the survey of educational centres carried out in 2018 and analysed the latest data on the satisfaction and employment outcomes of MUFP graduates. Mateos concluded that, although the master's degrees are an attractive training option, graduates' and educational centres' satisfaction with the specific competencies acquired has room for improvement. In particular, he mentioned that most centres think that classroom management skills and basic psycho-pedagogical knowledge should be further developed.
Finally, a debate was opened on the challenges in university training for secondary school teachers, moderated by José Saturnino Martínez, director of the Agencia Canaria de Calidad Universitaria y Evaluación Educativa (ACCUEE), with the participation of people from the field of teacher training:
- Alejandra Cortés, director of Quality and Teaching Innovation at the University of Zaragoza
- Antonio Javier Moreno, coordinator of the MUFP at the University of Granada
- Nacho Kolakovic, secondary school teacher and recent graduate of the MUFP
- Amparo Garcia, Generalitat de Catalunya Ministry of Education inspector
- Carmen Fernández, president of the Conference of Deans of Education
Salvador Rus, director of the Quality Assurance Agency for the University System in Castile and León (ACSUCyL), closed the day.
