Josepa Salvadó, new member of the Research Assessment Committee
Josepa Salvadó joined the Research Assessment Committee on 3 December 2021.
The Standing Committee of the Governing Council of AQU Catalunya, at the proposal of the President of the Research Assessment Committee, has appointed Dr Josepa Salvadó Rovira member of that same committee, replacing Dr Francesca Vidal Domínguez. The term of office is four years, renewable once.
Dr Salvadó received her doctorate from the University of Barcelona in 1988, with a thesis on the study of the effect of diets on the ontogenesis of nitrogen metabolism. She is currently the director and full professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Rovira i Virgili University. She is also a member of the Nutrigenomics Research Group at the same university and has published more than ninety scientific papers. Her main lines of research are obesity, oxidative metabolism, seasonality of fruit consumption, bioactive ingredients, lipid metabolism, flavonoids and photoperiods.
She also has considerable experience in assessment. She was a member of the Research Grants Council (RGC) in Hong Kong from 2008 to 2018 and of the Technical Council of Biochemists of the Catalan Council for Continuing Education in the Health Professions from 2009 to 2020.
