Meeting by video link of the Committee of Vice-Rectors to plan accreditation procedures for the second half of 2020 and those in 2021
The director of AQU Catalunya, Martí Casadesús, met with AQU Catalunya's Committee of Vice-Rectors to coordinate with universities in Catalonia the accreditation of recognised programmes of study during the state of emergency and to plan the accreditation procedures for the second half of 2020 and in 2021.
The suspension of administrative deadlines set in place by recent legislation (Royal Decree 463/2020, 14 March), whereby the present state of emergency was declared, also affects accreditation expiry dates. In order to meet the needs and requirements of the universities and give impetus to the institutional accreditation of faculties and schools, the director of AQU Catalunya consequently proposed the rescheduling of all site visits in 2020 and 2021 and that all site visits in 2020 be undertaken by way of video link.
In the meeting, the director of AQU Catalunya also presented a working document based on the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes on the conditions whereby the review and quality assurance of an inter-university programme carried out by another EQAR-registered QA agency is recognised directly by AQU Catalunya.
AQU Catalunya is one of the two agencies registered for the longest period of time with EQAR, having been registered since 4 March 2008.
