The Director of AQU Catalunya participates in the fifth CRUE Teaching Conference
The conference day of the Conference of Rectors and Rectors of Spanish Universities has taken place at the Universitat Jaume I, in Castelló.
The Director of AQU Catalunya, Mercè Gisbert, took part this Thursday in the 5th CRUE Teaching Conference, in which over yesterday and today the Sectoral Teaching Committee of the Conference of Rectors and Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) brought together representatives from vice-rectorates responsible for Official Studies and Lifelong Learning, Teaching, Teaching Innovation, Academic Organisation and Quality Assurance of Spanish universities. The event aims to provide a space to discuss issues such as the relationship between lifelong learning and official education or the impact of artificial intelligence on teaching, with special emphasis on assessment. It also aims to share good teaching practices and address regulatory and management issues that affect the proper functioning of university teaching.
Gisbert participated in a round table that addressed aspects of lifelong learning and official education in the current context of transformation in higher education. As stated by CRUE on its website: “Universities face the need to respond quickly to new training demands. Although official education remains the pillar of the university system, university-specific training has experienced significant growth as a flexible tool for skills updating, professional specialisation and connection with the socio-economic environment. The coexistence of both models raises tensions and opportunities that require rigorous analysis.”
Moderated by the Vice-Rector for Studies and Quality of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Ramon Vilanova, the session brought together Gisbert with the Vice-Rector for Continuing Education at the Universidad de Murcia, Vanesa Valero García, and the Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning at the Universidad de Castilla-la Mancha, Santiago Gutiérrez Broncano. The conference continued today with a round table focused on artificial intelligence in university teaching and a final session dedicated to conclusions and closing remarks.
