The Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) has progressively incorporated the gender perspective into all of its activities since the approval, in 2015, of Law 17/2015 on effective equality between women and men. The activities carried out in this regard are detailed in a specific report published in 2026, which compiles the various initiatives undertaken by the CAIP in order to comply with the requirement to act with a gender perspective within the scope of its responsibilities. Notable examples include the drafting and approval, in 2018, of the General Framework for the Incorporation of the Gender Perspective in University Teaching, the introduction of the gender perspective into the CAIP’s institutional and programme evaluation methodologies in accordance with current legislation, and the approval during 2025 of the Framework for the Improvement of the Institutional Quality of the Catalan University System (QUALINS Framework), aligned with new international trends and therefore aimed at building an inclusive European Higher Education Area that guarantees gender equality.
