Application submissions
AQU Catalunya has two application submission periods for substantial modifications that are to be incorporated in the following academic year:
- First period, from 15 October to 15 January: Substantial modifications affecting the annual teaching plan (changes to subjects, changes to course titles, etc.).
- Second period (extraordinary), from 1 February to 31 March: Less significant substantial modifications that do not affect the teaching plan (changes to the number of places offered, adaptation of the programme description to the new regulatory framework, etc.).
If a university wishes to make more than one substantial modification to a degree programme, and even if only one of them affects the teaching plan, it must group them all into a single application that must be submitted in the first period.
Universities must submit proposals for substantial modifications to the Council of Universities through the online system of the ministry responsible for universities.
The deadline for responding to the substantial modifications proposed by institutionally accredited centres is 4 months. Under exceptional circumstances, this deadline may be extended by three months in accordance with Article 42.5.c) of Act 30/1992, of 26 November.
