AQU Catalunya Delivers Learning Outcomes Training at the University of Girona
Academic leaders and technical staff from the University of Girona attended a two-hour training session on drafting learning outcomes, a key component of university programme profiles assessed by AQU Catalunya’s Specific Evaluation Committees.
Last Thursday, AQU Catalunya delivered a training session on learning outcomes at the University of Girona (UdG). The session was aimed at academic leaders and technical staff interested in improving the drafting of learning outcomes for university degree programmes submitted by the University’s faculties and schools as part of programme verification and modification processes, which are subsequently assessed by AQU Catalunya’s Specific Evaluation Committees.
The training was delivered by AQU Catalunya’s Technical Adviser, Josep Manel Torres. It began with a brief introduction explaining the concept and role of learning outcomes. Torres then presented a series of practical case studies highlighting areas for improvement and examples of good practice identified in programme documentation submitted by the University of Girona.
The training is the result of AQU Catalunya’s ongoing collaboration with the Quality Units of Catalan universities. In the area of learning outcomes design and drafting, the Agency has delivered a range of training activities, including sessions for the entire Catalan university system on Focus 1 and Focus 2, regular training for evaluation committee members, and workshops for Quality Units aimed at improving the drafting of learning outcomes in university programme specifications. The session was also available online.
