AQU Catalunya co-organises a meeting of the European QADoc project in Barcelona
The project focuses on strengthening the capacity of high-quality university research in three African countries. Representatives from Senegal, Guinea and the Democratic Republic of the Congo took part in a conference on university quality.

AQU Catalunya co-organised a seminar on university quality training for members of the Capacitation pour l’Évaluation et Assurance Qualité des Formations Doctorales et de la Recherche (QADoc) project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and aims to strengthen university research capacity in three African countries: Senegal, Guinea and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The conference, which was held from the 8th to the 11th of April, was attended by 34 participants. Its purpose was to help attendees familiarise themselves with the external assessment processes used by various agencies, as well as the internal assessment processes used by universities.
The participants of the QADoc project, led by the Cellule Interne d’Assurance Qualité of the Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Senegal, are primarily staff from ministries of higher education, research and innovation, staff from national quality assurance agencies of the partner countries, and representatives of doctoral schools and internal quality assurance units. During the first day of the conference, which took place at the University of Barcelona, the sessions covered topics such as the functions of the visiting committee, organising and conducting visits, how to write the report, the results of the assessment and the experience of the UB’s Doctoral School.
The second day of QADoc’s visit to Catalonia took place in Tarragona, hosted by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, and the third day was held at the Université de Montpellier. AQU Catalunya is a partner in the QADoc project and assists with the development of assessment criteria for research training. Additionally, it is involved in designing a training programme on these assessment criteria for ministries, quality assurance agencies, and universities participating in the QADoc project.
