AQU Catalunya publishes its 2025 Activity Programme
The document, approved by the Agency's Governing Board, takes as its starting point what is established in the 'Strategic Plan 2023-2026', the 'AQU Catalunya Equality Plan 2024-2027' and the 'Action Plan for compliance with the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area'.

AQU Catalunya has published today its 2025 Activity Programme. The document, which was approved by the Agency's Governing Board, groups the main activities planned to be carried out throughout the year in the five corporate social responsibility commitments to which AQU Catalunya wants to respond. It deals with the commitment to improving higher education, society, good governance, partnerships and the labour market.
The most important planned activities in the document include the approval and roll-out of a new assessment framework to replace the current Framework for the Validation, Monitoring, Modification and Accreditation of Official University Degrees (VSMA Framework), which will be known as the Framework for Improving the Institutional Quality of the Catalan Higher Education System. Likewise, regarding institutional quality, there are plans to continue working on the design of a process for the awarding of the departmental certificate of excellence in research, development and innovation for research departments, research institutes and affiliated centres.
Where the quality of teaching staff is concerned, AQU Catalunya plans to start issuing the new accreditations for associate and full professors, whose assessment criteria will already have been adapted to the Organic Law on the University System (LOSU). The Agency will also launch the planning and implementation of a process aimed at assessing compliance with the three-year tenure-track lecturer contracts that began after the approval of the Organic Law on Universities (LOSU) in 2023 for those universities that apply for them.
As regards the Generation and Transfer of Knowledge area, the dissemination of the results of the employment outcomes survey carried out in 2023 will continue in 2025, and online surveying for the 2026 employability study will be initiated and carried out. In addition, the Agency will complete the fieldwork of the 2024 employer survey this year and will publish the results. As part of AQU Catalunya's commitment to society, the EUC Informes website has been updated and six conferences and workshops have been arranged, as well as nine original publications.
