The Employability in Programme Development conference, which took place on 14 July at the Casa de la Convalescència in Barcelona, was very well attended. More than 100 people signed up for the event, which included lectures by professors Tristram Hooley and Lisa Taylor, as well as results presentation sessions by the project partners. The initiative, financed by the Erasmus programme and coordinated by the University of Glasgow, aims to establish mechanisms to improve graduates’ employability by adapting the design and development of training programmes to the information obtained from the labour market.
Among the results developed by Employability in Programme Development presented at the conference are the use of artificial intelligence tools provided by the Artificial Intelligence Lab at Vrije Universiteit de Brussel (VUB AI-Lab) and a portfolio of good practices on the use of labour market information when developing training programmes. The project, which ends this year and has AQU Catalunya and the University of Barcelona as partners, is clearly aligned with the Employers project, which the Agency has been carrying out since 2014 thanks to the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation.
Soon, two webinars will be held that will give continuity to the contents of the project. The first, entitled “Innovations in employability practice”, will take place on 18 July via Zoom, for which you can register here. The second, called “Best practice toolkit for HE employability: Lessons from case studies”, will take place on 19 July via Zoom and you can register here.
