Neus Vidal Martínez, new chair of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission
A ceremony took place today for the handover of the chairmanship of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission. Dr Maria Pau Ginebra, head of the Commission since 2015, has handed over her functions to Dr Neus Vidal Martínez, who has been appointed chair of the Appeals Commission by the Governing Board of AQU Catalunya.

The Governing Board of AQU Catalunya has appointed Dr Neus Vidal Martínez, professor in the Department of Electronic and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Barcelona, chair of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission.
Dr Maria Pau Ginebra Molins handed over the reins to Dr Neus Vidal Martínez in a ceremony held today.
Dr Vidal, in addition to being a professor in the Department of Electronic and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Barcelona, has completed five six-year research periods and four five-year teaching periods. During her scientific career she has specialised in the design, optimisation and characterisation of components, circuits and radio frequency systems. She has participated in 45 research projects or contracts that have been developed at the international and national level. She is the author or co-author of 120 articles in indexed journals and has taken part in numerous benchmark conferences. She has also carried out research stays at the University of Calgary in Canada, the University of Kiel in Germany and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Dr Vidal has taught four bachelor's degree and three master's degree programmes and has coordinated two inter-university master's degree programmes.
The Appeals Commission is in charge of resolving appeals filed against Research Assessment Commission agreements and other AQU Catalunya assessment, certification and accreditation commissions, and its resolutions exhaust the administrative route.
