Preliminary step. Requirements and incompatibilities
Before starting the application, please check that you meet the applicable requirements and are aware of the specified incompatibilities.
Requirements
- You must hold a doctoral degree.
- You must provide proof of nine months of academic mobility during the post-doctoral training period (excluding those who are exempt). Multiple academic stays of at least one month can be combined to meet the requirement.
What are the exemptions to the mobility requirement? - You must provide proof of both a minimum career length and a minimum teaching experience: ten years of full-time work or the equivalent part-time. As a rule, a minimum of 140 ECTS credits or 1,400 hours taught will be required (excluding those who are exempt).
What are the specifics of the requirement to simultaneously demonstrate a minimum career length and minimum teaching record?
Incompatibilities
- Applications for associate professor accreditation will not be accepted for processing if the candidate already holds a research or advanced research accreditation issued by AQU Catalunya, as these have permanent validity.
- The submission of an application for accreditation as an associate professor is incompatible with the simultaneous submission of an application for accreditation as a full professor.
- No new application will be accepted if an earlier application from the same individual is still pending a decision.
- If associate professor accreditation is denied, one year must elapse from the date of submission of the last application before a new application for associate or full professor accreditation can be submitted.
- If full professor accreditation is denied, the applicant may submit a new application for associate professor accreditation, while one year must elapse from the date of submission of the last application before a new application for full professor accreditation can be submitted.
- The AQU Research Assessment Commission recognises that obtaining accreditation as a full professor implies having also obtained accreditation as an associate professor.
