2020 update of AQU Catalunya's programme catalogue
The Programme catalogue is a system for the hierarchical classification of discipline-related degree programmes and other graduate qualifications at bachelor, master's and doctorate level, as well as higher studies and awards in the Arts. The catalogue enables indicators to be obtained on defined levels of aggregation, which provides for multi-level analyses that serve as a basis for the design of quality enhancement policies and actions.
The catalogue is grouped according to four levels, from broad to narrow scope: field, expanded subfield, detailed subfield and discipline.
The 2020 update includes the following changes :
At discipline level, a change in the assigned field of study of the following:
- The Veterinary Science discipline, which was previously grouped under the field of Health Sciences, now comes under Engineering Sciences. The change is for the purposes of comparability between disciplines in Veterinary Science and those in Agronomy and Food Science (first level detailed subfield).
- The Genetics discipline, which was previously grouped under the field of Health Sciences, now comes under Experimental Sciences. The change is for the purposes of comparability between these disciplines and those closely associated with Microbiology and Biochemistry.
At discipline level, there is a change in the assigned detailed subfield:
- The Accountancy and Finance discipline, which was previously grouped under the detailed subfield of Economics, now comes under Business Administration and Management.
- The Teacher Training (discipline (Master's), which was previously grouped under the detailed subfield of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy, now comes under the subfield of Childhood Education. This change enables the entire range of studies related to teaching to be grouped under one subfield.
- The Physiotherapy discipline, which was previously grouped under the detailed subfield of Sport, Nutrition and Physiotherapy, now comes under the subfield of Healthcare Personnel. This change facilitates the comparison of professional physiotherapists with other health professionals, such as nurses and dentists.
In the detailed subfield:
- Two detailed subfields, Countryside Management and Forestry and Food Science, have been created, resulting in the reordering of the expanded subfield associated with Agricultural Engineering.
