AQU Catalunya Participates in the 1st Forum of the Spanish Universities Group in European Universities
The Head of AQU Catalunya’s Quality Assessment Area, Esther Huertas, took part in a roundtable focused on micro-credentials.
The Rey Juan Carlos University hosted the first edition of the Forum of the Spanish Universities Group in European Universities (UEUE), held yesterday and today on the Fuenlabrada and Móstoles campuses. According to the organizers, the forum aims to “mark a milestone in collaboration between educational institutions” in Spain and to promote “the creation of synergies that enhance quality in all areas of higher education within the framework of the European Universities Initiative.” Esther Huertas, Head of AQU Catalunya’s Quality Assessment Area, participated in the working group discussion on micro-credentials, coordinated by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ECIU), which took place yesterday afternoon.
As noted by the organizers, the specific objectives of this first edition of the forum include facilitating the exchange of best practices, results, experiences, and knowledge among the participating universities; promoting cooperation among all parties involved to establish new networks and strengthen existing ones; discussing and finding joint solutions to the challenges faced by the UEUE group at the national level; and identifying and promoting initiatives that drive the transformation of higher education and the UEUE group.
The forum brought together representatives from Spanish universities that are part of international university alliances, as well as representatives from national, regional, and European institutions. Participants shared experiences and knowledge gained within the framework of European alliances, fostering “a collaborative network that transcends national borders,” as explained by the organizers. In addition to the working group in which AQU Catalunya participated, the forum also included workshops and plenary sessions. Currently, nine Catalan universities are part of European alliances.
