The Research Assessment Committee has approved the criteria for teaching staff accreditation that will apply from 2022.
This document incorporates a preface which has been drawn up with the aim of emphasising the specific characteristics and functions of the teaching staff accreditation processes carried out by AQU Catalunya, which is based on accrediting a minimum threshold of quality and experience in research activities, and the treatment of publications with publishing practices that may compromise scientific quality.
It also incorporates the modifications of the following specific committees:
- The Humanities Committee has agreed to review the public criteria for research accreditations based on the work done to modify the 2020-21 Advanced Research and Tenure-eligible Lecturer Criteria. The main feature is the incorporation of qualitative elements ahead of the more quantitative approach in force up to now. This modification brings greater consistency to tenure-eligible lecturer-research accreditation-advanced search accreditation traffic.
- The Life Sciences Committee has reviewed the public criteria for advanced research with regard to the research projects section.
- The Medical and Health Sciences Committee has incorporated a clarification on the treatment of contributions such as clinical cases and conference papers, among others. The clarification reads as follows:
- In this respect, and even if they are published in media of recognised value, clinical cases, publications corresponding to conference papers, letters to the editor and all those contributions that do not have a minimum length, which do not make an original contribution to knowledge or have not had a significant impact on the scientific community, such as notes or discussion of other articles, will not be considered.
