New 2022 call for assessment and recognition of teaching and research staff research merits open
The calls for applications from university teaching staff to have their research merits (sexennials) assessed and recognised will be opened from 27 June to 15 July 2022, inclusive.

The Research Assessment Commission has approved five new calls for research merit (sexennials) assessment and recognition applications, which opened yesterday. These include:
- the call for civil servant teaching and research staff (PDI) at public universities,
- the call for PDI with contracts at private universities,
- the call for PDI at affiliated centres,
- the call for research staff (PI) at public universities, and
- the call for Ramon y Cajal and Beatriz Galindo research staff (PI) at public universities.
Starting this year, the process has been simplified by distinguishing between applications for research merit assessment and those for research merit recognition handled by the National Research Activity Assessment Committee (CNEAI) and by the Agency itself – this is the case, for example, of research teaching staff (PDI) at a private university who move to a public university. As a result, teaching staff will have to fill in a different form depending on whether they are requesting the assessment or recognition of the research activity.
AQU Catalunya also reminds teaching staff that want to apply to the call that, to streamline the process, there is a tool on the Research Portal of Catalonia that allows interested applicants to fill in their short CV automatically based on the data contained on the Portal. Therefore, we recommend that teachers update the information available on the Research Portal of Catalonia before starting their application.
The Research Assessment Commission has approved the call and the assessment criteria, which have been published in the DOGC:
RESOLUTION REU/3818/2021, of 23 December, publicising the procedure and deadlines for submitting applications for assessment of the research activity of civil servant and non-civil servant teaching and research staff, for periods ending no later than 31 December 2021.
RESOLUTION REU/3819/2021, of 23 December, publicising the specific criteria for assessment of the research activity of teaching and research staff in Catalan public universities for the allocation of salary supplements for research merits.
