The Research Assessment Commission of AQU Catalunya holds the last meeting of the year
Among the topics addressed in this session, the approval of the criteria and the procedure for issuing the evaluation report on the performance of tenure-eligible lecturers stands out.
The Research Assessment Commission (CAR) of AQU Catalunya held its last meeting of the year yesterday. The session began with the presentation of the report by the Chair of the CAR, a position held by Professor Maria Pau Ginebra Molins. First, Molins introduced the new members of the commission, appointed at the latest meeting of the Governing Board of AQU Catalunya.
She also informed the members of the CAR about the virtual space that AQU Catalunya has created to manage more efficiently the training of the expert reviewers who collaborate with the Agency, and finally presented the CAR’s protocol of action regarding the recognition of research distinctions.
After the Chair’s report, the meeting debated and approved the criteria and procedure for issuing the evaluation report on the performance of tenure-eligible lecturers, which AQU Catalunya, through the CAR, has designed. It will be included in the Agency’s service catalogue and is expected to begin next April 2026. The commission also debated and approved the evaluation criteria for the research activity of contracted and permanent teaching and research staff for 2026.
Next, the procedure for evaluating the research activity of contracted and permanent teaching and research staff for periods that have ended no later than 31 December 2025 was debated and approved in the meeting.
During the session, the CAR also debated and approved the resolution making public the procedure and certification of the assessment of individual teaching and management merits of contracted and permanent teaching and research staff of the Catalan public universities, merited up to 31 December 2025.
Finally, the CAR also discussed various aspects related to the launch of the new teaching accreditation procedures. The most notable were the modification of the CV format, a proposed modification of conflict-of-interest cases, and a proposed modification of the CAR agreement document on measures to ensure equality and work-life balance in the evaluation of teaching and research staff.
