The director of the Serbian quality assurance agency concludes a three-day visit to AQU Catalunya today
During his stay, Nebojša Zdravković, director of the NEAQA, learned about the Agency’s main areas of activity from the professionals involved and shared information about the functions that his agency carries out in his country.

Nebojša Zdravković, the director of the National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NEAQA), the Serbian university quality assurance agency, today concluded a three-day visit to AQU Catalunya, during which he was given a detailed insight into its various areas of activity. The visit was carried out within the framework of the SEQA-ESG 2 project, in which the NEAQA is participating with the aim of strengthening alignment with the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG). The Serbian agency has selected AQU Catalunya as a benchmark for good practice within the aforementioned project, which is being implemented in several member countries of the European Higher Education Area.
The director of the Serbian National Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education was received on Monday by the director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola, and by the head of the Internationalisation and Knowledge Generation Department, Anna Prades Nebot. After the welcome, Zdravković was briefed on AQU Catalunya’s use of the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) by the head of the Quality Assurance Department, Esther Huertas, and the coordinator of the Quality Assurance Department, Albert Basart. The following day, the NEAQA director learned about AQU Catalunya’s internal quality assurance and transparency activities, the methodology used for preparing the Agency’s thematic analyses, the methodology and criteria used for the selection, training and assessment of evaluators, and the complaints procedure for ESG compliance. All these presentations were delivered by the aforementioned AQU Catalunya executives and the internal quality manager, Núria Comet Señal.
On the last day of Zdravković’s visit to AQU Catalunya, it was he who delivered a presentation on the NEAQA to the staff of the Catalan agency. Afterwards, Sandra Nieto Viramontes, project manager for the Internationalisation and Knowledge Generation Department, and Núria Mancho Fora, its data analyst, explained the various surveys carried out by AQU Catalunya: the Satisfaction Survey, the Employment Outcomes Survey and the Employers’ Survey. Lastly, project managers Concepción Herruzo Fonayet and Carme Edo Ros briefed him on the EUC Estudis portal. The visit by the NEAQA director ended with an open debate session on issues relating to AQU Catalunya and of relevance to the Serbian agency.
