Clarification on the assessment of the research activity of non-permanent (temporary) teaching and research staff in Catalan public universities
This note is published to address the queries that AQU Catalunya has received as a result of ruling number 335/20 of the High Court of Justice of Madrid
In view of the inquiries that AQU Catalunya has received in relation to the assessment of the research activity of non-permanent (temporary) teaching and research staff in Catalan public universities, as a result of Madrid High Court of Justice ruling number 335/20 on the lawsuit filed by the Federación Regional de Enseñanza de Comisiones Obreras de Madrid, AQU Catalunya makes the following clarifications:
1) In accordance with Article 2 of Decree 405/2006, of 24 October, establishing salary increments for teaching and research staff and civil servants of public universities in Catalonia, the posts that can apply to AQU Catalunya for assessment prior to receiving premiums are the following:
a) Civil servant teaching and research staff: full university professor, tenured university professor, full university school professor and tenured university school professor.
b) Non-civil servant teaching and research staff: professor, associate professor, permanent collaborating lecturer and lecturer. Collaborating lecturers may only opt for the premium for research merits if they hold a doctorate.
2) AQU Catalunya assesses the research activity of the teaching and research staff mentioned in the previous point, regardless of whether their post is permanent or temporary/substitution.
3) Currently, AQU Catalunya does not have any open calls for assessment of research activity of teaching and research staff in other temporary posts at the Catalan public universities not contemplated in point 1.
